Visual artist and teacher. Master in Art and Visual Culture from the Faculty of Arts of the University of the Republic (UDELAR) in 2021. Obtains his Bachelor of Visual Arts (Udelar) in 2002. Degree in Psychology (1995) does a Postgraduate specialization in Psychology Children and Adolescents, both studied at the Catholic University of Uruguay (UCU), 2006. Integrates a permanent training that includes his participation in seminars, workshops and clinics of artists linked to production, curatorship and education in contemporary art.
Since 2005, he has carried out individual and collective projects and exhibitions in different spaces within Uruguay and abroad, developing proposals that include long-term research processes that mostly involve networks of contact and collaboration with others in contexts of collaboration and co-authorship. . These processes are mainly linked to the places occupied by the collective memory and located in the representation systems.
He has received the Competitive Fund for Culture award (2020, 2014 and 2010), el premio Fondo estímulo a la Creación artística Justino Zavala Muniz en el 2014 y, en 2017 la Uruguay-Argentina Artist Residency Exchange Program grant, awarded by the Ministerio de Educación y Cultura – MEC. Seleccionada en el 59°,56°y 55° Premio Nacional de Artes Visuales, en el 48° Premio Montevideo de Artes Visuales y en la IX Bienal de Salto.
She is invited in 2019 by the Center for Studies in Archaeology, Arts and Heritage Sciences of the University of Coimbra, as an artist in residence to intervene in the Roman Ruins of Saint Cucufate. Participates as a guest artist in the VII Biennial of Contemporary Textile Art and in the II Biennial of Asunción in 2017. In 2013 he won the ProCultura Maldonado Funds Award and 2013 wins the ProCultura Maldonado Fund Award and in 2012 he received the first prize International Meeting of Urban Art, Casablanc Paysandú.
In 2019 she was selected to develop the Community contemporary art residency, working with the community of El Triunfo, Province of Buenos Aires in 2019.
In turn, he carried out residences in Curadora, Santa Fe (2018) and Bomeroom in the City of Arts, Córdoba (2012).
He has shown his work at the Museum of Visual Arts of Uruguay, Contemporary Art Space, Juan Manuel Blanes Museum, SUBTE Exhibition Center, Historical Museum Cabildo de Montevideo, Cultural Center of the Republic el Cabildo, Asunción, Art Space, University of Lanús, Buenos Aires, Casa del Risco Museum, Mexico, Qorikancha Museum, Cusco, Peru, Salvador Allende Memorial House, Havana, among others.
Currently a university professor in the Bachelor of Visual Arts and the Bachelor of Education at the Catholic University of Uruguay. It also develops seminars, workshops and courses invited by various organizations. In 2017 he is part of the jury of the Competitive Fund for Culture and the Stimulus Fund for Training and Creation in the visual arts category, MEC. Between 2013 and 2017 she is a jury and curator of the Art and Youth Meeting of the National Directorate of Culture (DNC-MEC) and the Youth Institute (INJU).
He lives and works between Maldonado and Montevideo, Uruguay.
