He was born in Montevideo on January 21, 1936. He studied at the Fine Arts Circle with the artist Clarel Neme, Jorge Damiani and Amalia Nieto. He also studied with Rimer Cardillo, attended Hugo Longa's workshop between 1986 and 1990, and attends the various courses of the Contemporary Art Foundation (FAC) since its inception.

Throughout his artistic career he tended to a wide variety of supports and techniques that include: drawings, paintings, tapestries, soft sculptures, installations, interventions, among others.

He has made numerous individual and collective exhibitions, and participated in shipments abroad. Among his individual exhibitions, in Montevideo and other cities of Uruguay, the following stand out: "Petri Boxes", National Library, Sala Vaz Ferreira, 1999; "The same things", Espacio Barradas, Blanes Museum, 1995; "Until it hurts", Historical Archive Museum Cabildo de Montevideo, 2001; "Medium Spaces" Mill of Pérez, 2001; "Atavistic Bodies", Engelman Ost, 2003; "Pliegues", Municipal Exhibition Center, Subway, 2007; "Kanga", intervention, unconventional spaces, elevator, Centro Cultural de España, 2008; "Compulsive Beauty", installation, MNAV, 2009; "Madame Butterfly", intervention, Teatro Solís, 2009; "What remains", installation, Contemporary Art Space, 2012; "Edge", Pedro Figari Museum, 2014; "Profane Libraries", Museum of Decorative Arts, 2015; among other. Throughout his career he has received numerous awards and distinctions, among which stand out: Acquisition Award at the 39th National Exhibition, 1975; Special Acquisition Award at the Banco República Centennial Hall, 1996; awarded at the Salto biennials, 1996 and 1998; Best Exhibition of the Year Award, Arte Magazine survey:04, 2003; Figari Award for Lifetime Achievement, Ministry of Education and Culture and Central Bank of Uruguay, 2014. The artist was honored at the 59th National Award for Visual Arts, exhibited at the Contemporary Art Meeting (EAC), 2020, the award was named after her .
